Music

At Emmaus College, the Music Program is an important part of nurturing the creative, artistic and emotional aspects of a student’s education. At Years 7 - 8 all students are introduced to a brass instrument and a woodwind. The students are also introduced to the world of electronic composition using the iPad app, Garage Band. In addition to the classroom program, individual tuition is available in a wide range of instruments. Lessons are arranged during class time and rotated each week to avoid interrupting the same class subject. The College has a number of instruments available for hire or students may choose to provide their own instruments. Students may choose to learn the following instruments:

  • Clarinet
  • Flute
  • Oboe
  • Saxophone: Alto, Baritone, and Tenor
  • French Horn
  • Trombone
  • Trumpet
  • Guitar - Acoustic/Bass/ElectricDrums
  • Percussion: Tuned and Untuned
  • Violin
  • Computer Music

 


Students have the opportunity to participate in various ensemble groups at no extra cost:

  • Ensembles: Guitar; Percussion; Violin; Vocal and; Woodwind
  • The Concert Band
  • The Soul Band
  • The Worship Group
  • The various groups rehearse weekly and perform publicly on a regular basis
