In Year 10 Mathematics, the skills and knowledge acquired in many of the topics studied in Years 8 and 9 Mathematics is consolidated and extended. Some new areas of Mathematics are also explored.

  • Similar Triangles
  • Surds

 

For Semester Two, students study either Year 10 General Mathematics or Year 10 Methods. Students who do wish to study Units 1 and 2 Methods or do not yet know which mathematics subject they will choose for Year 11, study Year 10 Methods. Students who do not wish to study Unit1 and 2 Methods in Year 11 choose Year 10 General Mathematics and study topics that prepare them for Units 1 and 2 General Mathematics. Enquiry and problem solving is encouraged in every topic and in every class of Year 10 Mathematics.
